Park Receives Prestigious Award

As widely reported in the UK Press today a Hampshire a Country park has been given the thumbs-up by one of television’s well known wildlife presenters. Eastleigh Borough Council’s flagship country park has gained its first ever Green Flag Award after being judged to be one of the best in the whole of the country.

The itchen Valley Country Park, in West End area, received the fantastic award from Michaela Strachan for its excellent facilities, which include a new outdoor arena, a woodland classroom and a dedicated disposable barbecue area.

Rupert Kyrle, chairman of Hedge End and Botley Local Area Committee, was reported as saying: “We are delighted and thrilled to receive this award that is confirmation that this park has now, rightfully been formally recognised as a very special place for everyone to enjoy and cherish.”
