Hampshire Showcase For Budding Artists

More local news from Dibbben and Dibben as local libraries across the Hampshire region are to showcase work by local artists as part of a month-long festival sponsored by the council. Now more than 50 local artists who have never held a solo exhibition of their work will get to show off their art at libraries across Hampshire throughout the month of September as part of the New Art festival.

The focus of this year’s festival is textiles and libraries will be adorned with inspirational designs using weaving, hand and machine stitching, beading, heat distressing, photographic screen printing, hand dying and felting.

Margaret Snaith, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for culture, communities and recreation, was quoted as saying: “This is a great opportunity for local people to get their work known amongst the local community."

She went on; “I would like to thank all those who submitted their work to our panels.”
