The largest international showcase event for the south’s commercial marine industry will be opening its doors to potential buyers from all over the world in Southampton this week Seawork 2009 launches at a time when the worldwide commercial marine market is estimated to be £2trillion per year, with dozens of Hampshire based manufacturers and marine suppliers playing a major role in the commercial marine industry.
About a quarter of the 450 exhibitors at Seawork 2009 are based in and around the local Southampton area making it the biggest, single region represented at the annual three-day show. Seawork 2009, the 12th annual show of its kind to be held in Southampton, is now clearly recognised as Europe’s leading commercial marine event because of the number of commerical marine exhibitors it attracts.
It is expected that in excess of 6,500 potential customers and delegates will visit the show being staged in the city’s Western Docks where a purpose built marina has been constructed to display a total of 60 vessels.
