New Forest bikers are speeding off to Casablanca

Some adventurous bikers are aiming to raise thousands for a charity based in the New Forest Hampshire – by riding all the way to Casablanca and back. Four fundraisers, from mobile phone makers Sony Ericsson, are setting off in July and aim to ride all the way to the Moroccan city and back in just a week – a round trip of 2,600 miles. This means an average of about 375 miles per day some of it in very hot conditions. Team Bumblebee, consisting of Jason Smith, Paul Hobson, Chris Round and Simon Beech, are taking on the gruelling challenge to raise £10,000 for the Forest-based Honeypot charity, which helps vulnerable children throughout the country.

As spokeman for the team said : "We all like our home comforts, however to make the challenge even harder we are going to sleep under the stars, so will also need to carry all of our equipment on the bikes."

"The ride will truly be a test of our stamina, will power and the plain old ability to keep going! We will have no support apart from each other and what we can carry on our normal road going bikes (no adventure bikes here!)."
