It has been reported that more than 50,000 music fanatics have travelled to the Isle of Wight, Hampshire for the event which aims to relive the atmosphere of the legendary festival which featured acts such as The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan. Surprisingly the weather has also been very kind to this event which many consider to be the kick-off event for the Summer music festivals. Other acts taking to the stage this weekend include Stereophonics, Razorlight, Pixies, Maximo Park, Basement Jaxx and several bands from the 1980s including The Human League, Ultravox, Simple Minds and Bananarama.
A festival spokeswoman said: "The eclectic and electric line-up mixes iconic artists with up and coming performers to make this a truly original festival that appeals to all ages and all types of music lovers." The event, held at Seaclose Park, Newport, will be the eighth year since the festival was reincarnated in 2002.
