More local events from in and around the Hampshire area from Dibben and Dibben as a full size scarecrow of children’s favourite the younf wizard Harry Potter complete with his own flying broomstick is hovering in a sleepy Hampshire village. The straw-stuffed character is among 24 standing guard in front gardens, sitting on shed roofs and perched up ladders for a scarecrow festival in Micheldever.

Other corny characters include three Michael Jacksons, Biggles, a vicar with a “not bothered” teenager, fiddler on the roof, Wee Willie Winkie and a clown. This years festival hopes to build on the great succcess of last years. The scarecrow festival is now a feature of many small Hampshire towns and run from mid summer to autumn.
