The group beat over 120 other entrants to receive the Village Church for Village Life award at a London ceremony attended by the Duchess of Cornwall. The group took the opportunity to ask Camillia to pay a visit to the centre. Project co-ordinator Graham Roberts, a director of a development company, said: "We've all invited her to come and see us - it's a warm welcome from all 550 of us involved with St Andrew's.
The award scheme is run by the magazine Country Life, and judged by a panel headed by Sir Roy Strong, former director of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
