Hampshire Kids Learn Cooking Skills

Pupils at Marnel, Merton and Chineham Park primary schools in Popley are using the Cook and Eat programme to learn basic cookery skills and improve their diets.

Taught in a fun and informal environment, the six-week programme is delivered in each school by the school cook, usually from Hampshire County Council’s catering service HC3S, with a member of the school teaching staff.

Dishes whipped up by the youngsters include home-made bolognese, healthy pizzas and vegetarian curries, as well as low fat versions of family favourites.
