Christmas Concert

More local news and events from in and around the Hampshire area from Dibben and Dibben as the Waynflete Singers open their 40th anniversary season in Winchester Cathedral with a Christmas fanfare conducted Andrew Lumsden. The choir’s 120 voices will be joined by Fine Arts Brass, which has toured more than 60 countries and performed at many UK festivals.

The choir will open with seasonal works by three of the finest 17th century composers – Gabrieli, Praetorius and Schutz. It will include the eight-part setting of In dulci jubilo by Praetorius, followed by Naji Hakim’s Jesu Redemptor Omnium, which was originally commissioned by The Waynflete Singers.
