More local news and events from in and around the Hampshire area from Dibben and Dibben as the weekend sees the Sandown Carnival. Sandown Carnival & Celebrations includes a magical parade featuring, lanterns, costumes, floats and bands parading through the town's streets, all lit with thousands of colourful lights.

Entertainment starts at 1800 when local band 14 Inch Remotes play on the Esplanade. The parade assembles at Grafton St, and moves off at 1830 accompanied by samba music. Also, catch the Fire Show on the beach opposite The Carlton Hotel with Ryde Extreme Performers.

The parade finishes at the pier with music and food and culminates in a spectacular firework finale from the pier at 2000.
