Whats On In Hampshire : Port Solent Boat Show
Show will be held at Port Solent Marina from 29th – 31st May. The show will open daily, 10am – 5pm with free entry and free parking. Having grown considerably for three years the event this year will provide plenty of entertainment for the family as well as a great selection of new power and sail boats. The 2009 show will not only include sail boats for the first time, but also some off water and family activity. There will be entertainment over the weekend including live music and visitors can marvel as the sea gods patrol the waves astride their squirting dolphin chariots, filling the air with streams of bubbles and the sounds of the seas from the “Tritons”.
There will also be balloon modelling – visitors can get a yacht shaped hat, or get their face painted – become a mermaid for the day, be astounded by the magician, or just sit and listen to the music being played throughout the site.
Down at the Boardwalk, as well as the usual array of shops and restaurants, The Jubilee Sailing Trust will be on site providing visitors with information on how to get involved and get sailing, Northchild Swan 51 Cruises will have details of their Swan 51 charters, the RNLI will have a souvenir stall and their Sea Safety team will be on hand with a display Rib offering free advice on how to stay safe at sea.
